Finding your wedding dress is such a fun part of wedding planning — and it’s when things really start to feel real. (This is actually happening!! Soon!!!) Below, I’ve compiled a list of the best wedding dress shops and boutiques in Seattle, Washington, to help you figure out where to start your wedding dress search.

I’ve linked as many of them as possible to their respective bridal shop websites as well, so you should be able to click them and easily find information directly from them. I initially wanted to include price ranges for each of these as well, but it’s something that changes so frequently that you’ll be better off checking yourself in real time.

Some of these dress shops have also changed names over the years, so I’ve done my best to include any former names so you aren’t accidentally looking into duplicate bridal stores.

What should I bring wedding dress shopping?

Bring or wear the shapewear or undergarments you plan to wear on wedding day so that you know how they’ll work with various dresses. I also recommend bringing shoes that are about the height you want to wear on wedding day — you’ll want to make sure your wedding dress will still look proportionate on you at the height you’ll actually be that day.

Where should I go wedding dress shopping?

Seattle has 15+ wedding dress shops and bridal boutiques! There’s a good chance you’ll find what you’re looking for without having to drive all over the Washington State.

Should I buy my veil at my wedding dress shop?

While that’s definitely an option at many bridal stores, I recommend looking online first, especially if you’re looking for a simpler veil as those tend to be pretty overpriced in-store. I’ve ordered soft, cathedral length veils for less than $30 that photograph beautifully and feel lighter than air. Honestly even more intricate and unique veils with beading, lace, embroidery, or other special touches are something I highly recommend exploring online first! I have seen some really, really cool small business that specialize in wedding veils and it is definitely worth it to have an idea of what you want before you get talked into something that you haven’t had time to research yet.

What if I don’t want to spend thousands of dollars on a wedding dress?

People have been getting married in pretty white dresses since Queen Victoria’s time. There are a lot of pretty white dresses out there! If you don’t want to buy new from a luxury bridal boutique, you have other options! You can use a family member’s dress (your mom, grandma, or sister, for example.) You can borrow or buy a dress from a friend, friend of a friend, or coworker. You can check out thrift stores, facebook marketplace, and wedding reselling groups. The bride thrifted her dress at this wedding I photographed. You can rent a dress. I recommend looking online or checking facebook marketplace again to look into this idea. Lots of people spent a lot of money on their wedding dresses, used them once, and would love to recoup some of that money without necessarily selling their dress. Additionally, some people have entire businesses where they rent out wedding dresses to brides, photographers, models and others. You can also go for a less traditional dress and start looking in lots of other shops! If you want a less traditional (but still white) dress, you can frequently filter by color at the dress shop of your choice.
