North Bend Field Engagement Photos Snoqualmie, WA | Alison and Neil

Alison and Neil needed to do their photos with enough time to get save the dates out in early March, so we wanted to find an engagement photo location near North Bend, Washington that would look beautiful even at the end of February. This field ended up being absolutely perfect for their session! We planned a sunrise session, and that was the best decision we could have possibly made. I arrived early, while it was still dark, so that I could do some scouting around North Bend and Snoqualmie area. The sky went through three really distinct phases — dark blue, BRILLIANT pink, and then this beautiful golden sunrise that lit up the field as the sun rose over Mount Si. My favorite part was the mist, though. It created such a gorgeous effect and really brought the magic!

Best time of day for this North Bend engagement photo location: Sunrise!

I definitely highly recommend sunrise for this specific engagement photo location. Because the sun rises behind the mountain, the prettiest side and backlighting is going to be in the early morning. Sunrise is also going to be the only time of day we can consistently get mist like this as the dew burns off the field!

When is the best time of year for engagement photos in North Bend?

This field in North Bend is a really lovely year round engagement photo location here in Washington.

Winter: Any other year, this field might have been covered in snow in February. I love snowy open spaces like this for winter sessions, and this one has the added benefit of a beautiful view of Mt. Si that will add grandeur year round.

Early Spring: This is the hardest time of year for engagement sessions — luckily for us, the grass gets green early in North Bend! This makes a really lovely spot for early spring sessions (when most other locations are still brown and dead looking.) Because this location regularly has misty mornings in the spring and fall as temperatures fluctuate, it has a unique seasonality.

Summer: Everything looks good in the summer in Washington! (This field is no exception.)

Fall: The grasses grow up longer and get golden, and it works really well for sunrise sessions! You also have the same beautiful mists as in the spring.
